The Arabia Art Department Society was established in 2003 by former Arabia Artists: Professor Heljä Liukko-Sundström, Professor Heikki Orvola, Fujiwo Ishimoto, Kati Tuominen-Niittylä, Pekka Paikkari, Kristina Riska, Heini Riitahuhta, Kim Simonsson and Jasmin Anoschkin. These Artists now work as freelancers who cherish and are continuing the Arabia Art Department’s cultural heritage.

One of the most important function of Art Department is to provide a place for artists where they can exchange thoughts and ideas. The main goal of the Art Department Society is to advance the status of ceramics art in the field of modern culture. It also aims at developing the Finnish culture and establish new contacts internationally through ceramics.

I was really proud when they asked asked me to design a new logo for the society, and as you see i ended up to a simple and classic letter A. Typography is taken from the wall of an old Arabia factory.
